When thinking about Tiger Woods, the first thing to pop into most peoples minds would most likely be; golf, green jacket, Nike, Gaterade, gorgous wife, family man, or maybe even role model. However, associating the name Tiger Woods with the words affair, cheater, pig, or idiot is now the reality. This is what all started the snowball effect around Thanksgiving. Tiger Woods left his house in Orlando, Florida in his black Escalade around 2:25 A.M when he crashed into a fire hydrant AND a tree. When the police cited Tiger for "careless driving" the handed him a $164 fine. While $164 is a lot of money for a stupid citation to a college student like myself, it happened to be the start of many problems for the #1 golfer in the world.
Prior to Tiger's crash, his wife Elin confronted him on rumors she heard about an affair. Elin asked Tiger about a 31 month long affair with cocktail waitress, Jamie Grubbs. As this came to a shocking surprise to myself and many others, matters only got worse. As a few days went by, Tigers affair count only continued to rise. His current total is 11 women ranging from 20 years old to 33 years old, from waitresses like the cocktail waitress mentioned to pancake house waitress, Mindy Lawton to porn stars, Holly Sampson and Josyln James.
This list of women is unbelievable and has completely ruined the image of Tiger Woods. What is in store to happen is unknown, however, Elin is said to have purchased a house in Sweden where she is from for $2 million. This is just about the last thing I would have expected from the athlete that had always preached about being a family man.
All in all, the difference is, Tiger drives his 3 wood about 265 yards.
I must admit that when I first heard about Tiger's "accident" I could not understand why he was apologizing. It never occurred to me that he could have such a tawdry list of affairs that had been covered up. As the number of women escalated, I found myself losing more and more respect for Tiger. How the mighty have fallen!
ReplyDeleteI am too completely surprised that Tiger Woods affair got to the point it did, and the circumstances that surrounded it. I first heard too about one of the porn stars bragging about her affair with Woods. It is just terrible that a man everyone held in such high regard has tarnished his image and ruined a lot in his life.
ReplyDeleteI agree. I believe Tiger Woods image is destoryed. I am shocked to hear about what Tiger did. Unlike how Kobe Bryant repaired his image I don't believe Woods can do the same. I like how he has taken time off to put his personal life back together but he has a long way to go in restoring his image.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed reading this blog and love the punchline at the end. My hope with Tiger Woods is that this doesn't define his career. "Sportsnation" on ESPN currently did a poll and fans voted that Tiger Woods was the greatest athlete of this decade. They voted this by a landslide. I think that every relationship has its ups and downs and controversies but they should be kept private between the parties involved. There is no room for him to receive the scrutiny he has as a result of this. It can only make it worse. With that media scrutiny makes people question the fact that he is an icon and possibly the best athlete on the planet. Those things seem to be overshadowed by his infidelity. Although it may take some time for America to be in love with and awed by Tiger's accolades on the golf course, this incident has garnered more attention than some of his biggest victories and its sad.
ReplyDeleteI think the stuff that has been coming out recently about Tiger has been crazy. It is funny because you would never expect that out of him. That just shows how good his image was. Now I think his image will be bad for a long time. It seems more and more bad news is coming out about him everyday.
